Reports To: Director of Hispanic Lending Division
Overall Summary: As a Junior Loan Officer, you will be responsible for assisting a high-producing loan officer in the timely submission of complete loan application files.
Essential Skills: Junior Loan Officer must be extremely detail-oriented with excellent oral and written communication skills and fluent in Spanish. Strong computer skills and proficiency are a must. Must be able to prioritize and balance workload while handling constant interruptions in a fast paced and demanding environment. Must have excellent follow-through and able to interact with all levels of customers both internally and externally.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares mortgage loans files by reviewing loan applications and clarifying and/or obtaining additional information.
- Confirms mortgage loan application information by corresponding with verification sources.
- Obtains mortgage loan documentation by ordering credit reports, appraisals, titles, and other related information.
- Identifies application and documentation problems by highlighting deficiencies and notifying the Underwriter and/or loan supervisor accordingly.
- Calculates principal, interest and closing cost amounts and notifies borrower.
- Monitors the loan officer’s pipeline to ensure applications are accurate, complete and moving through the approval process and closing in a timely fashion.
- Assists with the development and maintenance of a marketing database of new, existing and previous customers for the solicitation of new business to support the marketing plan of the loan officer.
Required Experience:
- Fluent in Spanish
- Knowledge of lending terminology and the ability to speak with borrowers regarding lending requirements.
- Prior experience with client relationships and the ability to cultivate new relationships.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills.
- Encompass experience a plus
- NMLS License Required within 4 Months of Employment
